Flow - Aug 8

It's a great stay at The Cabin.

Earl has completely remodeled and expanded the house. Inside and out is all beautiful wood and vaulted ceilings resembling a mountain lodge. The basement is a second living quarters with a ten bed bunkroom.

Earl "Bear" and Maggie "Honey" are well into retirement but work hard to help hikers.  She cooks dinner and he's up at 5am to make breakfast.  Previously hikers themselves, their concern and compassion for hikers is genuine.

Back on trail, in the morning I that hear Spirit is at the road ten miles up rather than twenty. She knew I was out of cookies so she baked some and moved up the meeting date to tonight!  My hike is so hard!

The earlier meet might be handy; it rained last night and the weather is forecast to deteriorate tomorrow morning. But it's good hiking weather right now.

So much for planning. Flowing is much better. This little stretch started with the uncertainty of the trail, then The Cabin pops up, and now the RV is a day early. Its all good. A night tenting in the woods alone is good but so are nights in hostels or with my sweetie. Flow and enjoy. Embrace the day.

10.1 miles to South Arm Road.
